Financial Literacy

This term our topic is Financial Literacy our class has chosen to involve ourselves by creating our own class currency and either had to rent or mortgage our toke trays, computers and chairs and even to have the heater on! This is going to be awesome today we had to write a job and how much pay you get the pieces of paper were then put into a container and each student had to draw one out, I was lucky enough to get the job as a lawyer and I earn $2695 a week that's $140,000 a year!!! I'm planning on mortgaging my stuff because it works out to be cheaper in the long run. I can't wait for it to begin!!! My Speech

My Speech

This is my speech for the 2010 Pukekohe intermediatespeech competition
1)New Zealand the place to go and see the native fauna and wildlife
and it has great tourism. I believe the doc estate mining plans will
ruin that. If you ask people what they think about New Zealand they
imagine a green eco friendly place . But are we really as green a
country as we think we are?

2)Politicians are arguing whether or not they should start mining in the Doc estate some say it will bring wealth to the economy but we already produce 21 billion dollars in tourism every year!!!We could risk alot of this money if we go through with the doc estate mining plans.

3)Unlike most pioneer settlers mining was not a huge industry that is why
alot of our native forests remain intact and have flourished to their full
potential. Through the years each plant and tree has had its own individuality
and many of these plants and trees have huge populations based in native
forests in the doc estate.

4)If the open cast mining proceeds we are likely to lose a great proportion out of
the 21 billion dollars gained in tourism every year and the economy will lose
money possibly meaning higher tax rates!!!

5)To restore an opencast mine they need to land scape and pay to get soil from other places they normally get this money from tax money which they receive
from the goverment. ( Which comes from you!!!)

6)How would you like to be going for a walk in the forest when the ground caves
in underneath you? This could be the case if we open cast mine in the doc sssestate.open cast mining causes alot of erosion meaning not only will 7000
hectares of native land be destroyed so will land around the open cast mine.
t about our land and protecting it and its resources. So what do you want to do risk our native forests for some money or keep our clean green image? You decide

7)The pioneer settlers knew little about the land and conserving or erosion but now we know alot about our land and protecting it and its resources. So what do you want to do risk our native forests for some money or keep our clean green image? You decide

My learning plan

This is my learning plan which I have all put my goals for the year on the subjects on it are reading, writing ,mathematics and citizenship. I hope to have completed all these goals by the end of the term.

Hockey

I have just joined the hockey team Reserve A because I have just started hockey I play any wing I really enjoy hockey!!!
This is my multiple intelligence test I did alright but I could have done better. In the multiple intelligence test they ask you questions to find out your intelligence level at each subject then it shows you your intelligence level on a chart.
This is my book report that I did for homework it contained a plot summary, character listings, personal response and a title I did mine on Toad Rage because I enjoyed it thouroughly and I also thought it was hilarious and truely enjoyed it.
This is my Me project on it I have photos of people I know, places Ive been and things I like I cut it out into the shape of a clover because I'm part Irish on my mums side It brought back the memories of places I've been it was a good project for getting to know each other.
MYSPEECH
For my speech I researched the doc estate mining plans sadly I cracked up laughing and ruined my speech I was doing all right until I did that and I had been practicing so hard every night its a shame I did that but next year Im going to do an even better speech and Im going to try and win!!!
